Be forewarned, my "understanding" is very unofficial as I am not involved in planning the logistics of the event. I.e., I personally won't refund the $100US ticket change cost if the dates change. ;) -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Edward Lewis +1-703-227-9854 ARIN Research Engineer From mcr@sandelman.ottawa.on.ca Fri Sep 13 16:26:15 2002 From: mcr@sandelman.ottawa.on.ca (Michael Richardson) Date: Fri, 13 Sep 2002 11:26:15 -0400 Subject: [vet-DS]pre-IETF interop In-Reply-To: Your message of "Thu, 12 Sep 2002 21:01:43 PDT." <200209130401.g8D41hU29807@boreas.isi.edu> Message-ID: <200209131526.g8DFQGd8003564@marajade.sandelman.ottawa.on.ca> -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- >>>>> "Bill" == Bill Manning writes: Bill> % But, it will be at the Marriot Marquis, right? I can cancel reservations easier than make them :-) BTW: I had to speak to the Group Reservations person to get a room for Wednesday. Seems that only 20 rooms were booked in the block before Saturday night, so if you ask for the IETF rate starting on the 13th (which is when the block starts), then you will be told "block sold out", when in fact it is just Wed/Thur/Fri that is sold out. ] ON HUMILITY: to err is human. Message-ID: <200209271404.g8RE4Gg02990@boreas.isi.edu> So, we seem to be able to get space for the following dates: 14-16 nov 2003 if there is still interest in open testing of DS capabilities. There have been two workshops, one at NAI and one at ISIeast. Results of the NAI workshop have been posted. I've not seen any formal results from the ISIeast workshop. I've seen the following behaviours that may need further work. - key length and fragmentation - key distribution techniques / validation - multiple active keys / algorithms - root key rollover / resolver issues There are a couple of TLDs that are participating, some that indicated they would be interested but have not stepped forward. At this time, it does not look like there is enough interest to hold an open testing session so unless I get confirmation from at least 15 people, I'm planning on releasing the space and canceling. --bill
