Dear Colleagues,

Thank you for attending the APRUNet Distance Learning Partnership
Project (DLPP) meeting that was held on 11 October 2004 at Tsinghua
University in conjunction with APRU's Distance Learning and the Internet
conference (http://dli2004.sce.tsinghua.edu.cn/).

We discussed the restart of this project which was delayed by SARS and
is partially funded by an APEC grant. We reached a consensus that it
will be based on collaborative teams of high school students working on
a marine and ocean biology project via videoconferencing. The students
will also be having a face-to-face conference to discuss their results
which may be in conjunction with an APRU conference on the same topic.

We talked about scheduling a videoconference to begin planning this
project. On second thought, I think a teleconference would be preferred
for the initial discussion(s) so that we are not concerned about the
technology and that we are more inclusive of organizations that may have
trouble scheduling this technology.

I propose that we have a teleconference on:

Los Angeles Tuesday, November 23 17:00 GMT -8
Vladivostock Wednesday, November 24 11:00 GMT +10
Singapore Wednesday, November 24 09:00 GMT +8
Beijing Wednesday, November 24 09:00 GMT +8
Tokyo Wednesday, November 24 10:00 GMT +9
Jakarta Wednesday, November 24 08:00 GMT +7

World Clock can provide other date and time conversions
(http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/).

Could you please indicate if you can make this call, or if you are
interested in the project but cannot make this date and/or time?

Thank you.

Best regards,
Zita
